W. Dale Compton, Ph.D.
Dale Compton is currently a chaired professor of industrial engineering at Purdue University. He was previously the Vice President of Research for Ford Motor Company. Dr. Compton is a Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering and holds a PhD. from MIT in Physics. He was a Research Physicist for the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1961 and a member of the faculty of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois from 1961 until 1970. He was Director of the Coordinated Science Laboratory at UICU from 1965-1970. In 1970, he became the Director of Chemical and Physical Sciences Laboratory for the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. From 1973 until 1986 Dr. Compton was the Vice President of Research for Ford Motor Company. Dr. Compton was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1981 and became the Senior Fellow of the NAE in 1986. Dr. Compton is currently Chairman of the National Research Council Commission on Engineering and Technical Systems and serves on numerous national and university advisory committees.
Egon Matijevic, Ph.D.
Egon Matijevic is the Victor K. LaMer Professor of Colloid and Surface Science at Clarkson University. He has been at Clarkson University for over 40 years and has served during his tenure in a variety of positions including Chairman of the Department of Chemistry and Director of the Institute of Colloid and Surface Chemistry. Dr. Matejevic has hundreds of professional publications to his credit. He has received numerous professional awards and has been granted honorary or lifetime membership in professional associations around the world including the Materials Research Society of Japan, Italian Academy of Ceramics, Croatian Chemical Society, German Kolloic Gesellschaft and the American Ceramic Society. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Zagreb and has received Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Science from Lehigh University, Maria Curie-Sklodowska University (Poland), Clarkson University and the National University of San Martin (Argentina).
Guy Haemers
Guy Haemers recently retired as the Corporate Vice President of N.V. Bekaert s.a., a $3 billion European materials company involved in advanced ceramic, metal, and coatings products and technology. Haemers was President of Bekaert Advanced Materials and led that organization from inception to over $200 million in sales in less than ten years time. He was responsible for the creation of Unisolar - a joint venture in residential solar power between Texaco/Chevron, Energy Conversion Devices, and Bekaert. Prior to 1995, Mr. Haemers held a number of senior management positions within Bekaert, including responsibility for Corporate R&D.
